Lets' Move!




Beyonce has joined our first Lady Michelle Obama in promoting the "Let's Move" Initiative..to get us Movin' Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let's Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. Giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices. Providing healthier foods in our schools. Ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food. And, helping kids become more physically active.

Are You a Passionate Youth Leader Committed to Service?




Then this post is for you! 

generationOn is looking for young people between the ages of 13-18 who are interested in partnering with other youth from around the country who are passionate about making a difference. Council members will be required to demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteerism, philanthropy and generationOn’s mission, which is “to inspire, equip, and mobilize youth to take action that changes the world and themselves through service.”  Members will also be encouraged to represent generationOn at conferences and special events. 

Students interested in applying should be enrolled in middle or high school (6th – 11th grade), live in the United States and be available to travel March 18-22 (all expenses paid). Community, youth, and faith-based organizations and educators are invited to encourage youth who are interested in applying to fill out an online application which can be found at www.generationon.org/global/big-happenings/youth-advisory-council. The 2011 Youth Advisory Council members will be announced in late February, 2011.
